Goalkeeper School

at the College ID Camp & Elite Academy at UConn

The Ray Reid Soccer School's Goalkeeper School provides keepers with an opportunity to learn from and train with some of the country's finest coaches. The Goalkeeper School is offered at the College ID Camp and both Elite Academy sessions. Our training curriculum will cover the four pillars of goalkeeping -- technique, tactics, conditioning, and psychology -- with the following keeper training topics covered throughout the camp week:

  1. Technical training- advanced handling;
  2. Footwork and agility;
  3. Distribution - defense to attack;
  4. Reaction shot stopping - explosive, quickness and reloading;
  5. Flank play-positioning and dealing with high balls and crosses;
  6. Positional training and providing the right communication;
  7. Breakaways and stealing ground;
  8. Shot stopping - long range, point blank, angling;

Each full day of camp, goalkeepers will be challenged in two keeper-specific training sessions and then will play in evening matches.

Some of the goalkeepers who have worked under Coach Ray Reid and his coaching staff in the past, include:
